A divergent lens of focal length 30cm forms the image of an object of size 6cm on the same side as the object at a distance of 15cm from its optical centre. Use lens formula to determine the distance of the object from the lens and size of the image formed

F=-30cm h=6cm v=-15cm
1/f=1/v-1/u
1/u=1/v-1/f
=1/-15 - 1/-30
=1/-15 + 1/30
=-2+1/30
=-1/30
u=-30cm

Now,
h'/h=v/u
h'=-15*6/-30
=3cm
Hope it helps you dear......

f=-30

h=6cm

v=-15cm

1/f=1/v-1/u

1/u=1/v-1/f

1/-15 - 1/-30

1/15+1/30

-2+1/30

-1/30

u=-30

Now,

h'/h=v/u

h'=-15*6/-30

3cm
