Instead, it contains edible iron minerals which is a macronutrient .The iron tablets given to a patient suffering from iron deficiency,that is, Anaemia, do not contain Iron (Fe) in the metallic from but in different compounds which are absorbable by the organ system and can be diffused into the blood to restore back haemoglobin into normal range. We usually get this iron compounds from green leafy vegetables and fruits.
