Number of steps taken by dog = 3

Length of one step = 1 foot

Total length covered by dog = 3 × 1
= 3 foot

Number of steps taken by cat = 4

Toatl length covered by cat = length covered by dog
= 3 foot
Distance covered by cat in 1 step = 3 / 4 foot

Distance cover in 12 steps = 3 / 4 × 12
= 9 foot
