The cost of whitewashing is ₹284.

• Given data :

The length of the door is 2 metres.

The breadth of the door is 1 metre.

The length of the wall is 4.5 metres.

The width of the wall is 3.6 metres.

Cost of whitewashing is rupees 20 per square metre.

• First,we have to calculate the area of the door by using the following mathematical formula :

= (Length of the door × Width of the door)

= ( 2×1)

= 2 metre²

• Now, we have to calculate the area of the world by using the following mathematical formula :

= Length of the wall × Breadth off the wall

= 4.5×3.6

= 16.2 metre²

• Now,the total wall area for the whitewashing is

= The area of the wall - The area of the door

= 16.2-2

= 14.2 metre²

• Now,the cost of the whitewashing will be

= Total area for whitewashing × Cost per metre square

= 14.2 × 20

= ₹284

So,the total cost of whitewashing is ₹284. (Answer)
