QUESTION:-

a drawing room is 5m 40cm long and 4m 10cm wide? how much carpet is required to cover the drawing room. what will be the cost of carpet, if 1sqm of carpet cost rs 325.

GIVEN:-

length of drawing room =5m 40cm

wide (breath) of drawing room = 4m 10cm.

we know that :-

1m = 100cm

1cm=1/100m

.°. length of drawing room is 5m 40cm = 5.40m

.°. wide (breath) of drawing room is 4m 10cm. = 4.10m.

CALCULATION :-

.°. AREA OF DRAWING ROOM = L ×B

= 5.40m × 4.10m

= \red{22.14m^2}

.°. 22.14m² of carpet required to the drawing room.

NOW,

the cost of carpet = area of drawing room × rate

= 22.14\cancel{m^2}×325\cancel{-m^2}

= \red{Rs. 7195.50}

.°. the cost of carpet is Rs. 7195.50
