A dress cost $ 30. If it is given a 20 % discount. What will the new price be ?

\frac{20}{100} ×\frac{x}{30}

This is the equation you need to start with. x is how many dollars with be reduced with 20%, 30 is the original price.

Then you cross multiply which gives you 100x=600

Then divide both sides by 100

That leaves you with x=6

So that means when it is 20% off the new price will be 30-6 or $24
