Work done by unknown resistive force is -8.75 Joules.

Given - Mass, height and speed

Find - Work done

Solution - Work done by gravity and force will be equal to the kinetic energy of drop. Representing this in equation form -

mgh + W = 1/2mv²

Keep the values in formula

As we know, 1 kg = 1000 g

So, 1 g = 10-³ kg

Also, as we know, 1 km = 1000 m

10-³*10*1000 + W = 1/2*10-³*50²

10 + W = 1.25

W = 1.25 - 10

W = -8.75 Joules

Hence, the work done is -8.75 Joules.
