let the capacity of drum be .x

the drum is 2/3 full . 2/3x

if 50 l more required to fill it up =

2/3x+50=x

2/3x-x=-50

-1/3x=-50

x =  - 50  \times  \frac{3}{ - 1}

x=150l

150 L

Step-by-step explanation:

Empty part of the drum = 1 - 2/3 = 1/3

If 1/3 part requires = 50 L

Then, 1 part requires = 50÷ 1/3 = 50×3 = 150 L
