a dry pallet of a commen base x when kept in open air absorbs moisture and turns sticky .the compound is also a byproduct of chloroalkali present process identify x what type of reaction occurs when x is treated with strong acid ? write a balanced chemical equation. can we store the base x when kept in an aluminium container? give reason to support for such reaction.

(i) B is sodium hydroxide (NaOH).
(ii) Neutralisation reaction occurs when B is treated with an acidic oxide.
iii) NaOH + HCl ▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪> NaCl + h2o

X is a base named NaOH.
When X i.e, NaOH reacts with strong acid Neutralisation reaction takes place.
As NaOH is a strong base so if it reacts a salt is given out as a product.
NaOH + HCl -- NaCl + H2O
