2 is the only even Prime Number. More interesting fact is that 2 is the smallest prime number. Many of us has the misconception that 1 is the smallest prime number, but as per standard definition of prime number “A number which has 2 factors 1 and itself is said to be a prime number.” But in case of 1 there is only one number i.e. 1 and hence by definition 1 is not a prime number.

As for the only even prime number, A number is said to be even when it is divided by 2, hence if a number is divisible by 1, 2, itself and many more numbers it cannot be a prime number. Hence 2 is the only even Prime number as 2 has two factors, 1 and itself.
