Heating effect of electric current:

(a)

when current flows through the conductor ,the heat is generated in the condutor due to the conveesion of electrical energy into heat energy this effect is called heating effect of electric current.

(b)

joules law:

The heat produced in a conductor is

(1)directly proportional to the square of the current.

(2)directly proportional to the resistance of the conductor .

(3)directly proportional to the time taken by the current to flow through it.

An expression for the heat produced by epectric current is

heat = (current) {}^{2}  \times resistance \times time

(c)

argon gas is filled in bulbs to protect the filament of the bulb from corrosion because argon is least reactive.
