(i) Does the object appear taller, shorter or of the same size to the diver?
(ii) Show the path of two rays AC & AD starting from the tip of the object as it

To the eye of the diver the object will appear taller than the real object.

Explanation:

  • This is due to the refraction of light. When the Ray of light it moves from air to water it moves towards the   principal axis.
  • as a result when we change that the light it seems to meet at a distant point resulting in the false feeling that the object which is seen by the diver is taller than it actually is. The image which is given below can explain the fact with great details.
