A factory announced 10 percent of bonus to 40 workers from the net profit at the end of last year. If every worker received 6,125 how much was the profit of the factory?

Solution :

Let the actual salary of the employee be x,

then bonus is 0.1x ( since bonus is 10 % of his salary)

So total income of the employee after bonus = x + 0.1 x = 1.1x

which is given 10,780

⇒ 1.1x = 10,780

∴ the profit of the factory is 10,780
