Let the weekly wage before his increment be 'x'.

(i)

His salary was raised by 6%.

⇒ x + 6% of x

⇒ x + (6x/100).

⇒ 106x/100.

(ii)

His salary was once again increased by 10%.

⇒ 10% of 106x/100

⇒ 10% of (106x/100)

⇒ (10/100) * (106x/100)

⇒ 106x/1000

Now,

Total salary = (106x/100) + (106x/100)

⇒ (583/500)x.

Given that his present weekly salary is 1107.70.

⇒ (583/500)x = 1107.70

⇒ 583x = 1107.70 * 500

⇒ 583x = 553850

⇒ x = 950.

Therefore, his weekly wage before this increment = 950.

Hope this helps!

let his wage before the increment be 'x'

first week

increased salary = x + 6% of x

= 1.06x

in second week

increased salary = 1.06x + 10% of 1.06x

= 1.06x + 0.106x = 1.166x

thus his present salary = 1.166x

1.166x = 1107.70

x = ₹950

Answer: his weekly wage before increment was ₹950
