Answer:

≈107.64J

Explanation:

1 juole = Watts per second

50W ÷ (8×3600)s

this is to get the energy used by the fan per day which is ≈ 1.736111J

40W ÷ (6×3600)s

this is to get the energy used by the light in one day which is ≈ 1.851852J

total energy per day:

1.736111 + 1.851852 =

to find what is used in a month is:

30 × 3.587963 = 107.63889

                        ≈ 107.64J (to 2d.p.)

Given:

Power rating of fan  = 50 W

Usage of fan = 8 hr/day

Power rating of TV = 40 W

Usage of TV = 6 hr/day

To Find:

The energy consumption of a fan and TV per month.

Calculation:

- The energy consumption of fan per day = Power × Time

⇒ Energy consumption of fan per day = 50 × 8 = 400 Wh

- The energy consumption of TV per day = Power × Time

⇒ Energy consumption of TV per day = 40 × 6 = 240 Wh

- Energy consumption of both fan and TV per day = 400 + 240 = 640 Wh

- Energy consumption per month = Energy consumed per day × 30

⇒ E = 640 × 30 = 19200 Wh

⇒ E = 19.2 KWh

- So, the energy consumption of a fan and TV per month is 19.2 KWh.
