Answer

The farmer and his sons

There was an old farmer in a village. He was very poor.

The old father had there sons. They were very idle. They did nothing all day long.

The farmer was very unhappy for this. He advised them to work for a living. But they did not listen to him.

The health of the old farmer soon broke down. He lay in a deathbed.

He called his three sons and said to them, “well my sons, I ma about to die. After my death dig up the field. You will find a lot of treasure hidden under it.” “Where is it?” cried all the three sons.

The farmer could not speak any more. He died.

A few days after the death of the farmer the sons dug the field.

They found no treasure.

The sons then sowed seeds in the field. There was a good harvest.

They got a good deal of money by selling the crops.

Then they understood the meaning of the old man’s words.

Moral: lab-our has its own reward.
