A farmer fences his vegetable garden with the wire of 940m. the length of the vegetable garden is twice its breadth by 5 m. Find the dimension of the vegetable garden.

Length = 2 x Breadth + 5             ........(2)

put the value of equation 2 in equation 1

940 = 2(2 x B + 5 + B)

940 = 2(3B + 5)

940 = 6B + 10

940 - 10 = 6B

930 = 6B

930 / 6 = B

Breadth = 155 m

Length = 2 x Breadth + 5

Length = 2 x 155 + 5

Length = 310 + 5

Length = 315 m
