A farmer grows only sunflowers and cotton in his 240 acrefarm .This year he wants to plant 80 acres more of Sun flowers than cotton .How many acres of each crop does the farmer need to plant

Let x be the sun flowers....
and y be the cotton...
x+y=240
.....
now the condition is we wnt 80 acres more sunflowers.......that is 80+y=x....
put this in our master eqn we get....
y+80+y=240.....
we get y = 80....
and x =160....
