hen has 2 legs and goat has 4,let no. of hens be x and goats be y
so x+y=80
and 2x+4y=200
solve both x=60 y=20

Answer:

20

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x  be the number of hens

Let y be the number of goats

The total number animal head is 80

So, x+y=80  ---A

No. of legs of 1 hen = 2

No. of legs of x hens = 2x

No. of legs of 1 goats = 4

No. of legs of y hens =4y

Since we are given that total number of animal feet is 200.

So,  2x+4y=200 ----B

Solving A and B

Substitute the value of x from A in B

2(80-y)+4y=200

160-2y+4y=200

160+2y=200

2y=200-160

2y=40

y=20

Substitute the value of y in A to get value of x

x+20=80

x=60

So, Number of Goats = 20

Number of hens = 60

Hence the total number of goats is 20 .
