a farmer moves along the boundary of a square field of side 10 m in 40 seconds what will be the magnitude of displacement of the farmer at the end of 2 minutes 20 seconds. I want the ans step by step​

1 round is completed by the farmer in 40 seconds.

So in 1 sec the farmer will cover 1/40 field.

and 2 min 20 sec = 140 sec.

Therefore rounds covered by the farmer in 140 secs = 140/40 rounds=3 and a 1/2 round

Therefore the farmer will be at the opposite corner diagonally after 140 secs.

Hence according to the Pythagoras theorem

displacement =\sqrt{10^{2}+10^{2}  }m

                       =\sqrt{200}m

                       =10\sqrt{2}m
