Let the resistance of an electrical component remains constant while
the potential difference across the two ends of the component decreases
to half of its former value. What change will occur in the current through
it?

V=IR

if R is constant, therefore-

V=I

or better to write V proportional to I

there fore , 1/2V - 1/2I

therefore the current will reduce to half
