A farmer travels 21 m north from his house. He then turns east and walks 6 m, from there he again turns south and walks 13 m. How many meters is he from his original position?

Step 1).  Farmer walked 21 m say from his house say Point O  to point A toward north.

Step 2). He turn  toward east and walked 6 m to say point B.

Step 3). He took turn toward south direction and walked 13 m say to point C.

OC = √(OD²+CD²) = √( 6²+(21 - 13)² ) = √(36 + 64) = √100 = 10 m

Therefore, He is 10 m away from original Position.
