A farmer wanted to sell a sack of wheat in the market. On a
Sunday, he set off from home at eight o'clock. He put the sack
on his pony's back and sat right behind the bag. A neighbour
remarked, 'What a cruel man you are to load the pony with the
sack and your weight too!
So the farmer slung the bag across his own shoulders, sat on the
pony's back, and rode off to the market. By the time they reached
the market, the poor pony was very tired. The grain merchant
scolded the farmer for being so cruel to his pony. The farmer
protested, 'But I carried the bag of wheat during the ride. The
pony carried only me!
