If a fast moving wheelchair suddenly stops, its patient tend to fall forward  due to the inertia of the wheelchair the patient tend to remain in a state of motion if the wheelchair comes to rest also.

Explanation:

According to the Newton's law of motion, due to inertia patient of a wheelchair ,if you stop the wheelchair suddenly, body of the patient still want to move forward as they moving before earlier.

Once the wheelchair stops the part of the body which is in contact with the chair come to  the rest and chair also. But body part which are not in contact with the wheelchair want to keep moving because of the effect of inertia, because of this reason patient can fall from the wheelchair.
