#AlexaRousey here!!

Let the present age of father be x nd of son be y.

According to question ;

=) x = y+30

=) x -y = 30 .. Eq1.

After 12years the man will be three times as old as his son.

=) x+12 = 3(y+12)

=) x+12 = 3y + 36

=) x-3y = 36-12

=) x-3y = 24 .. Eq2.

Subt eq2 from 1;

=) x-y - (x-3y) = 30-24

=) 2y = 6

=) y = 6/2 = 3

Put the value of y in eq1:

=) x-3 = 30

=) x = 30+3 = 33

Hence father's age = 33years nd son's age = 3 years.

Thanks!!

let the age of son be x years
given,
age of father = x + 30 years
according to question,
after 12 years
x+30+12 = 3×(x+12)
x +42 = 3x + 36
2x = 6
x =3 years
son's age = 3 years
his father's age = 33years. ans
