Let the age of the father be 'x'
Let the age of his son be 'y'
Therefore , x=30+y
12+x=3(12+y)
=12+(30+y)=36+3y
=y+42=36+3y
=y+6=3y
=2y=6
Therefore , y=3
Therefore, the son's present age would be 3 yrs
Father's age = 30 + y
=30+3=33
Therefore, father's present age is 33.
Answer: father's present age is 33 and son's present age js 3 yrs.

Let the present age of the father be x and the son be y years.
Given that A father is 30 years older than his son.
x = y + 30.
After 12 years:
Age of father = x + 12
Age of son = y + 12.
Given that In 12 years the man will be 3 times as old as his son.
x + 12 = 3(y + 12)
y + 30 + 12 = 3y + 36
y + 42 = 3y + 36
-2y = -6
y = 3.
Substitute y = 3 in (1), we get
x = y + 30
x = 3 + 30
x = 33..
Therefore the age of father = 33 years and the age of son = 3 years.
Verification:
x = y + 30
33 = 3 + 30
33 = 33.
Hope this helps!
