Let the age of father be x and that of son be y

x=4y.......(i)
after 5 years,
(x+5)=3(y+5). .........(ii)
from (i) and (ii)
4y+5=3(y+5)
→4y+5=3y+15
→y=10
So, the age of son is 10 years
