3( x + 15) = x + 45 + 15

3x + 45 = x + 60

3x - x = 60 - 45

2x = 15

x = 7.5 yrs

The present age of son is 7.5 yrs and his father's age is

45 + x

45 + 7.5

52.5 yrs
