let son's age be x
so father's age will be 2x
before 20 years their ages were
X-20 and 2x-20 respectively.
now 4(x-20)= 2x-20
4x - 80=2x-20
4x-2x =-20+80
2x= 60
x= 30
hence son's age is 30 years and father's age is 2x = 2*30=60 years.
