Step-by-step explanation:

let x be the present age of the father

and y be the present age of the son

here y+35=x

x=6y

y+35=6y

=>5y=35

=>y=35/5

y=7

and

x=6y

x=6*7

x=42

hence, the present age of the father is 42

and the present age of the son is 7

Step-by-step explanation:

f = father’s age

s = son’s age

f = 6*s

f = s + 35

i.e. 6*s = s + 35

i.e. 5*s = 35

Thus, s = 7. The father is 42, the son is 7 years old.
