A faulty thermometer reads -4* c when placed in melting ice and at 98* when placed in contact with steam at normal pressure. What is the correct temperature on the celsius scale when this thermometer reads 32* ?

98° = -4°
(98/-4)° = (-4/-4)°
(-49/2)° = 1°
x°C. = 32°

x = (-49/2)*32
x = -49*16
x = 784° C


hence the correct temperature is784° C
