A few months back people of village X started dumping waste in the village pond which

was the primary source of drinking water. After sometime the villagers noticed a green

colour growth spreading rapidly over the pond surface.

a) Comment upon the action of the villagers.

b) What could be the reason for the growth seen in the pond?

c) What could be the consequences of this growth in the pond?

d) How would you advise such people to avoid such practices?​

It was algae which was produced by soap and detergent water or other waste product with other chemicals. To prevent algae we can

1.Introduce pond aeration and water movement through aerators or fountains.

2.Pick up and dispose of pet waste, a common source of excess nutrients and bacteria.

A)the villagers were dumping dirt and at the same time that was thier source of water which they use to drink unknown to the villagers they were unawre of the cause and most of them would have reacted to the water a long time ago but saw it as it was minor illness.

B)the cause of the growth in the pond is because of the dirt which was been put in the water this then cause different organisims to grow in the top layer of the water and sometimes settle at the bottom of the water.

C)The consequences is that its giong to lead to serious illness and if proper care is not taken it could lead to death.

D)they should be a a ble to dig the ground or to create an organisation which will be able to come to such village to be able to throw thier dirt
