Find the value of a , if (x-3) is a factor
of the given polynomial:
> 2x4 + 3x3 - 26x2 + ax + 6
Then check if ( x + 2 ) is a factor of the given polynomial.

HERE IS UR ANSWER DEAR,

(x-3) is the factor of p(x)

therefore,

let

x-3=0

x=3

p(x)=2x⁴+3x³-26x²+ax+6=0

2(3)⁴+3(3)³-26(3)²+a(3)+6=0

2(81) +3(27)-26(9)+3a+6=0

162 + 81 -234 +3a +6 = 0

3a +15=0

3a =-15

a = -15/3

a= -5

now

let's verify

let x+2=0

x=-2

p(-2)=2(-2)⁴+3(-2)³-26(-2)²-5(-2)+6.

=2(16)-3(8)-26(4)+10+6

=32 -24-104+16

=-76

which is not equal to zero

therefore,

(x+2) is not the factor of p(x)
