of 10 N gives a mass1 an acceleration of 2m/s^2 and a mass2 an acceleration of 4 m/s^2. What acceleration would it give if both the masses are tied together

10 = m1 x 2

m1 = 5kg

10= m2 x 4

m2 = 5/2 kg

F = Ma

F = (m1 + m2) a

10 = (5 + 5/2) a

10 = (15/2) a

a = 20/15 = 4/3 m/s^2
