Distance travelled by sound in air = 1.36 Km

Distance travelled by sound in water = 6 Km

Explanation:

Speed of sound in air = 340 ms–1

Speed of sound in water = 1500 ms–1

time = 4 seconds

(i) Distance in air = speed * time

= 340 * 4

= 1360 m = 1.36 Km

Sound travels 1.36 Km in air in 4 seconds.

(ii) In water, speed = 1500

Distance = speed * time

= 1500 * 4

= 6000 m = 6 Km

Sound travels 6 Km in water in 4 seconds.

hlo mate ✌️

Given :

case 1:

Speed of Sound in Air = 340 m/s

Time Taken = 4sec

To find : Distance

Distance = speed × Time

Distance = 340 × 4

Distance = 1360 m [ air ]

Distance = 1.36 km

_____________________________

Case 2 :

Speed of Sound in Water = 1500 m/s

Time Taken = 4 sec

Distance =?

Distance = 1500 × 4

Distance = 6,000 m

Distance = 6 km

_________________________

Now ,

Diffrence = 6 km - 1.3 km

diffrence in the distance travelled :

6km - 1.36km

= 4.64 km

Hope it helps ❣️
