Height of building is 24 m

•Firstly we have to draw neat diagram to analyse the situation.

•We got two triangles ABC & DEF

shadow of an object is formed when a ray strikes and reflects back

•so, ray of sun makes a angle of depression from the top of tower

which in turn is angle of elevation from tip of the shadow to top of tower

these angles are <B & <F respectively

•At same instance these angles will be equal

•Now in triangle ACB

tan B = P/B = 8/10

tan B = 4/5 ______(1)

=> tan F = tan B

=> tan F = 4/5

•In triangle DEF

tan F = P/B = 4/5

DE/FE = 4/5

DE/30 = 4/5

DE = 24m

• Hence height of building is 24 m
