Given :- A Flagstaff is fixed at one corner of a square room of the sides 20m. The angle of elevation of the top of the Flagstaff from opposite corner of the room is found to be 30degree. Find the height of the Flagstaff ?

Solution :-

Let us assume that, height of the flagstaff is h m .

so,

→ (height of flag staff / Base distance which is side of square) = tan θ .

then,

→ h / 20 = 1/√3

→ √3h = 20

→ h = 20/√3

→ h = 1.73

→ h = 11.56 m (Ans.)
