Q at 4:00 p.m. on the same day. Another flight which
leaves Q at 7:00 p.m, reaches P at 3:00 p.m. on the
next day. If both flights travel non-stop at 700 km/hr
and all times mentioned are local times, find the
distance between P and Q (in km).

Answer:A) 11550

Step-by-step explanation:

Link

Distance = Speed x Time

Let us say that time difference between P and Q is x (For example California is 2 hours behind Iowa)

So: 700(Speed) x (13 + x) (Time) (If a flight takes 5 hours from Iowa to California, the time taken will be 5 - 2 = 3 hours) = 700 (20 - x) (We take minus because its plus the other way).

hence solving equation we get

13+x = 20-x

hence x= 3.5

substituting in eq

we get 700(13+3.5) = 11550
