Given,
Length of the floor (l) = 5 m
Breath of the floor (b) = 4 m
•°• Area of the floor = l × b
= 5 m × 4 m
= 20 m^2

Length of the square carpet (l)= 3 m
•°• Area of the square carpet = l^2
= (3 m)^2
= 9 m^2

•°• Area of the floor that is not carpeted = (20 - 9)^2
= 11 m^2
