length of floor = 5m

width of floor = 4m

so, area of floor = l*b = 5*4 = 20m²

each side of square carpet = 3m

area of square carpet that's laid on floor = side² = 3² = 9m²

so, area of the floor that is not carpeted =
area of floor - area of carpet laid on floor
= (20 - 9)m²
= 11m²

hope it helps u.
