it's true that a food chain consists of several organisms if one of the organisms in the chain disappears then there will be a great effect on other organisms of the food chain for example grass is eaten by deer and deer is eaten by tiger so if deers are disappeared then the population of plants will increase and tigers will decrease

if one organism disappears from a food chain then the number of organisms in the previous level will increase because no organism will be able to consume them.
take for example-

grass => deer => lion

if deer will not eat grass the grass will grow uncontrollably.
if lion will not hunt deer the number of deer will increase and they will eat all of the grass.

=> this will result in instability in ecosystem.
