A food chain consists of several organisms. Suppose one of the organisms in the chain disappears. What effects can this have on the other organisms in the food chain

The effect may be a major one or minor depending on how to important that organism in the food chain. It can also lead overpopulation of 1 species specifically. For example, If all lions died, then their preys would become overpopulated and that will effect the food chain a lot
