A given force is acting, in x-y plane:

 \small \rm \vec{F} = 2\hat{i} + 4\hat{j}

 \sf \tan \theta =  \frac{perpendicular}{base}

 \small \:  \sf \: tan \theta =  \frac{dy}{dx}

tan \theta =  \frac{4}{2}  = 2

 \theta =   {tan}^{ - 1} (2)
