Given:-

  • Mass ,m = 200g = 200/1000kg = 0.2kg

  • Displacement ,s = 400 cm = 400/100 = 4 m

  • Time taken ,t = 2 s

  • Initial velocity ,u = 0

To Find:-

  • Magnitude of Force ,F

Solution:-

Firstly we calculate the acceleration of the particle. Using 2nd Equation of Motion

s = ut+1/2at²

where,

a is the acceleration

u is the initial velocity

t is the time taken

s is the distance covered

Substitute the value we get

→ 4 = 0×2 + 1/2×a × 2²

→ 4 = 0 + 1/2×a × 4

→ 4 = a × 2

→ a = 4/2

→ a = 2m/s²

Acceleration of Particle is 2m/s².

Now we know that Force is the product of mass and acceleration.

• F = ma

Where,

F is the Force

m is the mass

a is the acceleration

Substitute the value we get

→ F = 0.2×2

→ F = 0.4 N

Therefore, the magnitude of force is 0.4 Newton.
