a force acts for 10s on a body of mass 10-2 kg initially at rest after which the force ceases come to an end to act. the body travels 0.5m in the next 5s find the magnitude of the force.

given the the time for which force acts is equal to 10 seconds
the mass of the body is equal to 10.2 kilogram
initial velocity is equal to zero
since the force ceases to act on the body
on the body after 10s then the rest of the distance is covered with uniform velocity
so the final velocity =0.5/5
=0.1m/s

since force is equal to product of mass and acceleration
=10.2×(10.2×0.1-0)/10
=10.2×1.02/10
1.04 N

Velocity when Force ceases to act
= 0.5 m / 5 s
= 0.1 m/s

a = (v - u) / t
= (0.1 - 0) m/s / (10 s)
= 0.01 m/s²

F = ma
= 0.01 kg × 0.01 m/s²
= 10⁻⁴ N

Magnitude of Force is 10⁻⁴ N
