for 3 s, initially at rest. Calculate : (i) the
velocity acquired by the body, and (ii) change
in momentum of the body.

Answer:

Force = mass× acceleration

F =10 N

mass = 2 kg

a = F/m = 10/2 = 5 m/s²

i)now, u = 0

t = 3 sec

v = u + at = 0 + 3×5 = 15 m/s

ii) initial momentum = mu = 2×0 =0

final momentum = mv = 2×15 = 30 kg m/s

change in momentum = final momentum - initial momentum

                                   = 30 -0 = 30 kg m/s

or

F=ma

F=10N

Mass=2kg

a=f/m =10/2=5m/s

now,u=0

t=3s

v=u+at=0+3*5=15m/s

Intial momentum=mu=2*0=0

Final momentum=mv=2*15=30km/s

Change in momentum=final momentum- intial momentum=30-0=30kg
