M1 = 10/5 = 2 kg

M2=10/2 =5 kg

acceleration when two bodies are tied together is 10 /7 = 1.43 m/s2

10 N is the only external force on the two bodies 5 kg n 2 kg respectively. (Tension is an internal force and has no impact when two bodies are considered as system).
