Use F = ma
10 = 2m1
m1 = 5 kg
10 = 2.5m2
m2 = 4 kg
When both are tied together..,
F = (m1 + m2)a
a = F / (m1 + m2)
a = 10 / (5 + 4)
a = 10/9 m/s^2
a = 1.11 m/s^2
10 = 2m1
m1 = 5 kg
10 = 2.5m2
m2 = 4 kg
