Answer:

The velocity which force gives to mass = 2612.2 m/s.

Given :

Force on the mass, F=128\ N.

Mass, 490\ g =0.49\ kg.

Time period in for which the force is applied, t=10\ s.

According to the Newton's second law of motion, the force on an object is equal to the mass times times the net acceleration produced in the object, if a is the acceleration of the mass,

F=ma\\\Rightarrow a = \dfrac Fm = \dfrac {128}{0.49}=261.22\ m/s^2.

Let the mass be starts from rest, so that its initial velocity is u=0\ m/s and its final velocity which the force give be v.

Using the equation of Kinematics,

v=u+at\\v=0+261.22\times 10=2612.2\ m/s.
