Work = F S cos theta, where F= force, S= displacement and theta= the angle between force and displacement.
12= 12*2 cos theta
12= 24 cos theta
cos theta = 12/24= 1/2
cos theta = 1/2
cos theta = cos 60°
theta = 60°

Angle between the applied force and displacement is 60°.

Explanation:

By definition, we have Work W = Fs cos θ where F is applied force, s is object's displacement while the force is applied, and θ is angle between applied force and displacement.

Given Force = 12 Newtons, Work = 12 Joules and displacement = 2 metres

W = force * displacement * cos θ

12 = 12 * 2 * cos θ

Cos θ = 1/2 = Cos 60°

Hence  θ = 60°

So, the angle between the applied force and displacement is 60°.
